Development of High-Tech – Smart City
In 2015, the city began turning their dream of making Ramat Gan the first smart city in Israel a reality. The smart city program focuses on improving three main areas - traffic and transportation, education, and municipal services - by implementing creative technologies for the benefit of residents. The city recently held an Expo competition, where nearly 50 companies and entrepreneurs presented ideas for advanced technology projects to add to the smart city program. Additionally, this past year the city held a hackathon for the city's high school students, who created various applications to benefit and serve city residents.
Ecity | Pedagogical innovation with maximum digitization
Education is one of our city’s main strengths. We see education as the key to success for future generations, in our view education is the only means of creating social mobility and change. The combination of Education and Smart City is an innovation breakthrough and the foundation that in our view will ignite and set in motion the concept of Smart City. Smart City in Education is combining methods of the startup ecosystem, business world and advanced technology enables innovative and enhanced pedagogical solutions to meet our school needs.
Ramat-Gan promotes the concept of Smart City in Education with the following properties:
A. Smart Pedagogical Management: Aggregation and integration of data by BI system from all information in Ramat- Gan which support real time decision making.
B. Learning Community: Creating a learning community in Ramat Gan, which includes all education sectors we share knowledge and learn from each other and that"s empower educators and create the infrastructure for crowd wisdom.
C. Online Learning: Technology which enable our pupils to learn in innovative ways using current pedagogical methods, for example video conferences, location-based learning and augmented reality.
D. Collaborative Problem solving: 24 hr events which aim to efficiently and collaboratively reach solutions.
E. “Routine of Innovation” Combining methods from the startup ecosystem and business world such as "Design Thinking" we encourage our students and teachers to initiate and create speedily and efficiently.

CityZone | Intelligent traffic management
One of the biggest challenges the Ramat-Gan municipality is facing is in Transportation & Traffic due to the light train contractions in the huge urban changes and the fact that Ramat-Gan is a diffusional city. In order to deal with these challenges in Transportation & Traffic, Ramat –Gan municipality are promoting a new Intelligent Traffic Management program that is based on 3 major keypoints.
The first one is the ability to gather data based on technology such us: sensors for traffic and parking, traffic cameras, PTR (public transportation ruts) cameras, WAZE as admin user, parking monitoring in real time & analyzing, social parking (add 30% parking place based on private parking place), projection traffic jam based on technology the Israel police is using etc.
The second one is the ability to "react" with the data in terms of: Municipality enforcement on PTR, traffic lights control, WAZE updates as admin and BI in Transportation & Traffic.
The third key point is our development of thr traffic & transportation control room.

Icity | Municipality digital management
2021 is the target year to complete the transition to the "smart management", based on Professionalism with the ability to analyze big data in order to make relevant and "real time" decisions. The "smart management" will be based on a system / concept that is built on 4 key paths.
1. New core applications that will be based on best practice and Tailor-made applications that dealing with the city anagement requirements
2. Big Data – Implementing Big data applications for predictive and analytic data. Smart Management needs smart tools for analyzing data -to be able to make decisions based on real data, trends and estimations making for effective decisions in real time.
3. IOT - Sensors & energy saving in electricity, water use, air pollutions etc...
4. Clouded computing – Building new Infrastructure for communication, hardware and Software to support the smart city concept.
